Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor and provide nursing care for hospitalized surgical patients
  • Perform post-operative patient assessments and pain management
  • Conduct diagnostic laboratory testing
  • Place and maintain IV catheters and drains
  • Change bandages and manage wound care needs
  • Obtain radiographs (x-rays) and assist with diagnostics
  • Administer medications, fluids, and injections (IV/IM)
  • Assist with surgical support when needed
  • Draw blood and perform clinical laboratory procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment updates
  • Fill prescriptions and document patient charges
  • Assist with emergency surgical cases when applicable
  • Educate pet owners on discharge instructions and medication administration

What We're Looking For
  • Veterinary Technician experience required
  • Interest in specialty and surgical medicine preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and ability to calculate accurate drug and fluid doses
  • Comfortable handling and restraining patients safely and compassionately
  • Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment
  • Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with the broader hospital team
  • Excellent communication and client service skills

Experience & Education
  • Minimum 2–3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting required
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred, but not required
Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
